EquineEd: Featuring Cherie DeVaux and Robby Hertzel

About this event

The Kentucky Horse Park is thrilled to announce its next installment of the EquineEd series on Tuesday, November 10, featuring acclaimed Thoroughbred racehorse trainer Cherie DeVaux, joined by special guest Robby Hertzel.

Cherie DeVaux is a Kentucky-based Thoroughbred trainer. In 2026 she became the first woman to win the Kentucky Derby, taking the race with Golden Tempo, and added the Belmont Stakes with the same colt five weeks later. She is also the first female trainer to win multiple Grade 1 races on the same day. Joining the discussion is Robby Hertzel, Golden Tempo’s yearling manager at Claiborne Farm, offering unique insights into the champion colt’s early development and journey to racing history.

This EquineEd event is sponsored by the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation hosted by the Kentucky Horse Park , and broadcasted by The Plaidcast . The session will be co-hosted by KHP President Lee Carter and Dr. Piper Klemm, host of The Plaidcast .

The evening will include an in-depth interview with DeVaux and Hertzel, followed by a 15-minute audience Q&A session and an exclusive hat-signing opportunity. Golden Tempo hats will be available for purchase at the event, (limited availability) with all proceeds benefiting the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation. Food trucks will also be on-site, so guests can grab dinner and refreshments!
