About this event
If you've ever wondered why one side feels stronger than the other, why your low back is always chiming in, or why a familiar pose suddenly feels different, the answer usually isn't that you need to stretch more or try harder.
More often, your body has simply fallen into patterns of compensation. Some muscles are doing too much, others have stopped participating, and movement becomes harder than it needs to be.
This Weekly Practice is designed to change that.
Using yoga as the tool, you'll learn how to improve joint mobility, awaken underused muscles, and build strength where it matters most so your body can move with greater ease, stability, and confidence.
Think of this as peeking under the hood of your own body. We'll discover what's working, what isn't, and make a few small adjustments that can change the way you move.
Each class stands on its own, but weekly they create a progressive approach to moving—and feeling—better. Drop-ins are always welcome.Enrollment is intentionally limited to 12 participants to allow for individual attention, coaching, and feedback throughout the series.
Mobilty Yoga is guided by Lissa Sims, founder of SHALA, longtime yoga teacher, writer, and movement educator. Drawing on years of teaching yoga, breath work, and contemporary mobility and strength practices, Lissa helps students better understand their bodies so movement feels more intuitive, more capable, and more enjoyable.
Whether you join us weekly or just one class, you'll leave with a deeper understanding of your body and practical tools you can use every day.
When all of you works together, yoga feels better—but so does walking the dog, carrying groceries, hiking, gardening, traveling, and getting up from the floor. Because moving should feel good.
$30 drop-in. SHALA Members are free but please register as space is limited to 12 people.
