About this event

Discover a unique practice that blends mindful movement, functional strength, and deep restoration. Mace Flow is built around one of humanity's oldest strength training tools. For thousands of years, warriors, wrestlers, and athletes in India, Persia, and Central Asia trained with heavy clubs and maces to develop powerful shoulders, resilient joints, rotational strength, and endurance. The traditional Indian gada became a symbol of both physical and mental discipline, while modern steel maces have adapted these timeless training principles into a safe and accessible practice for people of all fitness levels. This class combines that rich tradition with the mindful atmosphere of a yoga studio, creating a practice that develops strength without sacrificing mobility. What to Expect Each class follows a balanced progression: Seated Meditation to quiet the mind and establish intention. Sun Salutations to gently warm the body and prepare the joints for movement. 20-25 Minutes of Mace Flow, featuring functional movement patterns, traditional swings, and flowing combinations that improve coordination, posture, balance, and whole-body strength. 30 Minutes of Yin Yoga to release tension, improve flexibility, and encourage recovery through long-held, relaxing postures. Benefits of Mace Flow Unlike many traditional strength exercises, mace training challenges the body through leverage rather than heavy weight. Because the weight sits away from your hands, even a light mace creates meaningful resistance that encourages the body to move as one connected system. Regular practice may help improve: Shoulder mobility and stability Grip and forearm strength Core strength and rotational power Balance, coordination, and body awareness Functional movement for everyday life Joint resilience and healthy posture Mental focus and mindfulness through rhythmic movement The flowing nature of the practice encourages smooth, controlled movement rather than speed or force, making it an excellent complement to yoga, hiking, martial arts, strength training, and everyday activities. Who Is This Class For? No previous experience with mace training or yoga is necessary. Whether you are looking to move better, build functional strength, improve shoulder health, or simply experience a refreshing way to exercise, this class is designed to meet you where you are. Movements can be modified for beginners while still providing plenty of challenge for experienced practitioners. Come explore a practice where ancient tradition meets modern movement, leaving you feeling stronger, more mobile, and deeply restored.
