Eli Schwartz: Guitar Concert at EKU

About this event

Mr. Schwartz will perform a wide variety of works spanning several genres of guitar music, including Skeleton by Andrew York, Prelude No.3 by Heitor Villa-Lobos, and selections from S. L. Weiss’s Suite in D Minor.

Contemporary selections will include a mix of Latin, blues, and Gypsy jazz, along with original compositions by Mr. Schwartz. The program will also feature the popular late-1990s hit “One Headlight” by The Wallflowers.

Mr. Schwartz’s recital will take place in O’Donnell Auditorium, located in the Whitlock Building on EKU’s campus. He will be joined by several guest musicians throughout the program. Ben Egner will perform with Mr. Schwartz on “A Minor Duet” and “Polonaise Concertante,” while Blake Logsdon will accompany him on “All of Me.”

For the contemporary portion of the recital, Isaac Matlock, Gavin True, Jakob Weisenberger, and James Wright will join Mr. Schwartz for his original composition “Pressure” and The Wallflowers’ “One Headlight.”
